B.Sc. Graduate

Current Research
My work with the Metaxas lab is presently focused on subtidal systems of the Northwest Atlantic. My undergraduate research examined the effect of wave exposure on population dynamics of the invasive, epiphytic bryozoan Membranipora membranacea in kelp bed ecosystems of Eastern Shore Islands (ESI), Nova Scotia, Canada. I am currently working to expand the geographic range of a model for the predicted distributions of kelp beds on the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia. This information will allow for calculations of connectivity between kelp patches on a regional scale and can directly inform coastal conservation planning in Atlantic Canada.
