Current Research

My honours project research with the Metaxas lab focuses on the invasive bryozoan species Membranipora membranacea, comparing its population dynamics between the southwestern shore (SW) and Eastern Shore Islands (ESI) of Nova Scotia. I’m interested in determining if previously established trends of  M. membranacea settlement and cover across the SW are applicable to the ESI. This research will enhance the knowledge base which informs conservation of kelp beds in Atlantic Canada.
